Change the codekey for a .bin file for a Bluetrum chip.

How to Change the Bluetrum Code Key

The Bluetrum Code Key Tool allows you to change the Code Key of a supported Bluetrum firmware .BIN file.

The tool automatically unpacks the original firmware, rebuilds the required firmware sections, and applies the new Code Key. You do not need to manually unpack and rebuild the firmware yourself.

1. Prepare Your Firmware

Before using the tool, prepare the Bluetrum firmware file that you want to modify.

The firmware must be in:

.BIN format

For example:

firmware.bin

It is strongly recommended to keep a backup of the original firmware before making any changes.

2. Choose the Firmware File

On the Code Key page:

Step 1: Select the BIN File

Click Choose File and select the firmware .BIN file from your computer.

For example:

original-firmware.bin

Step 2: Enter the New Code Key

Enter the new Code Key in hexadecimal format.

For example:

0x12345678

The Code Key should be entered as an 8-digit hexadecimal value.

Step 3: Click “Rekey & Download”

After selecting the firmware and entering the new Code Key, click:

Rekey & Download

The tool will automatically process the firmware and generate a new .BIN file with the updated Code Key.

3. What the Tool Does

The Code Key tool performs the required firmware processing automatically.

The general process is:

Original Firmware
       ↓
Analyze Firmware
       ↓
Detect Original Code Key
       ↓
Unpack Firmware
       ↓
Rebuild Firmware
       ↓
Apply New Code Key
       ↓
New Firmware BIN

You do not need to manually extract the firmware or edit the encrypted firmware sections.

4. Download the New Firmware

After the process finishes successfully, the new firmware will be available for download.

For example:

firmware-rekeyed.bin

Save the new file to your computer.

The original firmware file is not modified.

5. Code Key Format

The Code Key should be entered as a hexadecimal value.

For example:

0x675BD6D3

The 0x prefix may be used to indicate hexadecimal notation.

A valid Code Key contains 32 bits, which means it is represented by up to 8 hexadecimal digits.

Examples:

0x12345678
0xA1B2C3D4
0x675BD6D3

6. Original Code Key vs. New Code Key

The firmware already contains its original Code Key.

The tool automatically detects the original Code Key during the processing stage.

You only need to provide the new Code Key that you want to use.

For example:

Original Code Key:
0x675BD6D3

New Code Key:
0x12345678

The tool will rebuild the firmware using the new Code Key.

7. Recommended Workflow

For the safest workflow, always keep the original firmware.

For example:

original-firmware.bin

Then create the modified firmware:

firmware-rekeyed.bin

This allows you to keep the original firmware unchanged and easily return to it if necessary.

8. Important Notes

Use a Supported Firmware

The tool is designed for supported Bluetrum firmware structures.

Not every .BIN file can be processed successfully.

Enter the Code Key Carefully

Make sure the new Code Key is entered correctly.

For example:

0x12345678

Avoid accidentally entering spaces or additional characters.

Keep a Backup

Always keep a copy of the original firmware before changing the Code Key.

Test the Result Carefully

After generating the new firmware, verify that it is suitable for the intended device before using it.

An incorrect or incompatible firmware may cause the device to operate incorrectly.

9. Quick Usage

For experienced users, the process is simple:

Select the .BIN file → Enter the new Code Key → Click Rekey & Download → Download the new firmware.

The tool will automatically handle the required firmware processing and generate the modified .BIN file.

Important

Only modify firmware that you are authorized to modify.

Always keep the original firmware as a backup and make sure the new Code Key is entered correctly before generating the modified firmware.
