How to Use the Bluetrum Firmware Unpack Tool
The Bluetrum Firmware Unpack Tool allows you to automatically analyze and unpack Bluetrum firmware files in .BIN format.
The tool can automatically detect the Code Key, analyze the firmware structure, and extract components such as the App and Resource sections for further inspection, modification, or rebuilding.
1. Prepare Your Firmware File
Before using the tool, prepare a Bluetrum firmware file in:
.BIN format
For example:
firmware.bin
It is recommended to use an original firmware file or a firmware file known to be compatible with the supported Bluetrum structure.
2. Start the Unpack Process
On the Bluetrum Firmware Unpack page, follow these steps.
Step 1: Select the BIN File
Click Choose File and select your firmware .BIN file from your computer.
Step 2: Click “Unpack”
After selecting the file, click:
Unpack
The tool will automatically:
- Analyze the firmware structure.
- Check the firmware information.
- Automatically detect the Code Key.
- Identify the firmware regions.
- Extract the App section.
- Extract the Resource section.
- Generate the required files for further editing or rebuilding.
Processing time depends on the firmware size and server performance.
3. Download the Result
After the process is completed successfully, the tool will generate a result file for download.
The result is normally provided as a ZIP file, for example:
firmware-unpacked.zip
Download the ZIP file and extract it on your computer using Windows File Explorer or another archive utility.
4. Files After Unpacking
Depending on the firmware, the extracted package may contain files such as:
header.bin
boot-code.bin
app.bin
res.bin
res/
The main components are:
- header.bin — Firmware header information.
- boot-code.bin — Boot code section.
- app.bin — Main application firmware.
- res.bin — Packed resource data.
- res/ — Extracted resource files.
The exact structure may vary depending on the firmware.
5. What Can You Do After Unpacking?
After unpacking the firmware, you can use the extracted files for tasks such as:
- Inspecting the firmware structure.
- Modifying resources.
- Changing the Bluetooth name when supported.
- Editing supported firmware components.
- Rebuilding the firmware using the Build Firmware tool.
If you want to create a new firmware after making modifications, use the Build tool and follow the corresponding firmware build instructions.
6. Important Notes
Make Sure the File Is Compatible
This tool is designed for supported Bluetrum firmware structures.
Not every .BIN file can be successfully unpacked.
Do Not Modify System Files Without Understanding Them
If you are not familiar with the firmware structure, it is recommended to keep files such as:
header.bin
boot-code.bin
unchanged.
Only modify the components you understand and actually need to change.
Always Keep a Backup
Before modifying any firmware, keep a copy of the original file.
For example:
firmware-original.bin
Perform your modifications on a separate copy.
If the Tool Reports an Error
If the unpacking process fails, check the following:
- Make sure the file is actually a Bluetrum firmware file.
- Make sure the file is not corrupted or incomplete.
- Make sure the firmware uses a supported structure.
If the problem persists, save the error message and provide the firmware file for further analysis.
7. Quick Usage
If you are already familiar with the tool, the process is simple:
Select the .BIN file → Click Unpack → Wait for processing → Download the ZIP file → Extract the ZIP file on your computer.
You can then use the other available tools to modify or rebuild the firmware.
Important
Always keep a backup of the original firmware before making any modifications.
Modifying or using incompatible firmware may cause the device to malfunction. If you are unsure about a particular firmware component, make a backup before making any changes.
